Overcoming Hopelessness
George Jowi was one of seven children living in a small home in Nairobi, Kenya. In addition to sharing this home with his mother, there were also a dozen cousins who shared the same space for shelter--a total of 17 children under the same roof! The father eventually abandoned the family altogether--leaving the total responsibility with George's mother. Join us all this week on Renewal as our host, Dr. Gene Getz, talks with his special guest who grew up in a culture of "hopelessness"--but who had a mother who had hope when life seemed impossible. Knowing their mother was doing the very best she could to survive and to care for them, George's story will demonstrate that it is possible to overcome some of the most difficult circumstances in life.
